Where are AT Dance classes held?
Highett classes are now held at our new studio: 497 Highett Road, Highett.
Parkdale classes are held in the Shirley Burke Theatre Studio: 64 Parkers Road, Parkdale.
Does AT Dance have a set uniform?
AT Dance currently has no set uniform. However, clothes worn to class must be appropriate for the given style of dance and students are heavily encouraged to wear the school colours; blue, black and green, in all of their classes. Our dancewear page has more information and recommendations on what to wear for class.
How do I know which class is suitable for me or my child?
AT Dance offers a multitude of different types of dance styles, because we know each individual is different in their own dance journey. We also offer a free trial class for students who wish to try a new class. Check out our timetable and contact us to book in your free trial.
What are fees/ payments like?
Fees can be paid either as you go or by each term. Our term fees are adjusted to suit the number of weeks in the term, as well as giving considerable discounts for the number of hours the student does per week. Our pricing page has more information and the exact cost of our term fees.
What is the registration fee and what does it cover?
The registration fee is an $18 fee that each family must pay at the beginning of each year to sign up for classes. These ensure we can hold your enrolment place and cover the costs we pay for insurances and licenses.
Are there any additional costs aside from the term fees?
Excluding the registration fee and term fees, there is only one additional fee throughout the year. This is the performance fee, which is a minor cost that allows you/your student to participate in our end of year concert. This fee helps pay the costs of rehearsal and rehearsal teaching, renting the theatre, and also covers all of your student’s costumes for the performance.
Troupe classes also have an additional cost for competitions (which varies depending on the competitions troupe enters).
What are the ages for the classes?
Each style of dance has classes running for specific age groups. This includes junior, sub-inter, inter, senior and adult classes, found on our timetable page. However, the age guidelines for these classes are a recommendation only. Students are welcome in the classes they feel most comfortable in, and on rare occasions, if a student is excelling, they may trial an older age group to see if it is more suitable for their dance needs.
If possible be recommend a quick safe drop off, please ensure you are parked legally.
Parkdale: Street parking can be utilised or a small car park
Highett: Car parks out the front of the studio are 1 hour only. We recommend parking in surrounding streets or car parks (train station or shopping)
Where should I park?
All junior, inter and senior ballet classes at AT Dance have an in-studio ballet assessment in August each year. This is not a focused syllabus, but instead an in-class examination in which students can gauge their strengths and weaknesses in ballet technique. The students learn the required syllabus in the months leading up to the exam, and are examined by an external examiner.
Does AT Dance run dance exams?
